7: Beauty and the Biz, Elyse Sewell

Wendy turned me on to Elyse's blog, and it's freakin' awesome. Part of the blog has been published on ex-tree and I read it. That's the story, more or less. Nothing to say about it, really, except:

  • nice presentation—very trendy.
  • some pictures that didn't make the blog are here (tiny, though).
  • all the cursing that did make the blog is not here (boo!).

Really, the text is now squeaky clean, which makes it somewhat less amusing. Some American slang has been removed, too, and a very few footnotes added to explain things like "Magellan: a 16th century explorer, the first to circumnavigate the globe" and "Soylent Green: a fictional food product made of human flesh".

come what MAY

Oh, bloody hell.

  • Vox Gran Diccionario de Frases Hechas: la referencia mas exhaustiva y moderna de frases hechas espanolas. Indeed. I don't even speak Spanish.
  • Konrad Lorenz, Here Am I—Where Are You?: The Behavior of the Greylag Goose.
  • Konrad Lorenz, The Year of the Greylag Goose.
  • Elyse Sewell, Beauty and the Biz. Bought by Bing for me in Taiwan, because it's not available here.

Finished: only Elyse's journal. Sigh.

Read: 7
Acquired: 19: I'm counting the dictionary, because really, what business had I buying that?
